"Tony Rice has a 12 year collaboration with Santa Cruz on the design and construction of his signature model. He wanted a guitar with all the bass response of a pre war Martin, but wanted a contemporary sounding mid and treble range. Did they ever get THAT right! I've never heard another dread have a balance like this guitar. You would swear you were playing a great (though really loud) OM. I've heard more than one person say this is what a pre war D-28 sounds like, the Holy Grail for many players.
